A versatile fermenter designed with the modern laboratory in mind
The FerMac 310/60 is designed with the modern multi-function laboratory in mind and is primarily for use with bioreactors over 15L working volume, or where the process is particularly viscous. Single-use bioreactors are available up to 30L.
This integrated system offers all the flexibility of our modular systems with enhanced control capabilities.
The use of established engineering techniques and rigorous testing ensures that our impressive track record of reliability is maintained.
The FerMac 310 Stirrer is constructed using a durable stainless-steel framework and the powerful top drive motor is of the highest specification to give maximum performance.
The whole assembly provides easy access for removal of vessel, inner parts and drip tray, whilst providing a useful stainless steel backplate for mounting additional items such as control valves and water pipework. The open architecture enables simple user-reconfiguration of gas flow.
For certain applications, the 310 stirrer can alternatively be combined with modules from our 200 series of controllers. Control of the stirrer is either by the 360 controller, or the local speed dial.
The FerMac 360 Controller is simple to use, powerful and effective. It uses a clear fluorescent display and shows all the key parameters on one screen at the same time. A single keystroke takes you into specific calibration screens for each parameter, keeping the display uncluttered and intuitive.
With 4 built-in peristaltic pumps as standard, our FerMac 310/60 and 320 series are designed for batch and fed-batch fermentation.
With the addition of an optional variable speed pump, the system is easily adapter for most continuous cultures.
When you decide to expand, the 360 is pre-configured for additional FerMac modules (such as the FerMac 368 gas analyser or the FerMac 366 pump module) and has spare parameter channels to allow for other upgrades. Redox, optical density or viable cell biomass, pCO2, light intensity - almost any (autoclavable) measurable probe can be added.
This version of the FerMac 310/60 has a vessel specifically designed for microbial culture and features a flat bottom.
